Pangboche & Everest Base Camp

A pilgrimage to the village at 4,000m where Sir Edmund Hillary built the school in 1963. Help repair classrooms, deliver supplies, and trek on to Everest Base Camp.

The Route

The village at the base of it all.

Pangboche is the oldest village in the Khumbu, home to the monastery Hillary himself supported and the school he helped build in 1963. It sits directly on the route to Everest Base Camp, and every group we bring stops here first.

We repair classrooms, deliver winter supplies, and spend real time with the families who live here year-round, long before the trail continues up toward Base Camp itself.

This is also where our seabuckthorn is pressed, fat orange berries harvested above 4,900m and used across the range for their nutrient density.

The Itinerary

Roughly how it goes.

Day 1–3

Kathmandu to Lukla

Fly into Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu, and begin the walk up-valley through Namche Bazaar.

Day 4–7

Pangboche

Base ourselves in the village. Classroom repairs, supply distribution, and time with the monastery and the families here.

Day 8–14

On to Everest Base Camp

Continue up through Dingboche and Gorak Shep to Base Camp itself, with acclimatisation days built in throughout.

Day 15–18

Descent to Lukla

Retrace the route back down-valley, and fly back to Kathmandu for a final night together.
